Alex Akinyemi

Senior Managing Agent

Alexander Olawale Akinyemi is a passionate young insurance agency owner who grew up in Lagos, Nigeria. His curiosity about the insurance industry led him to pursue a degree in Business Economics from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. After graduation, Alex decided to pursue a career in the insurance industry.

Alex began his career working as a captive apprentice agent at a local insurance agency during his final year of college. He immediately fell in love with the industry and the opportunity to help people protect their assets and plan for their future.

In 2020, Alex was hired as a full-time agent at Bankers Life and Casualty. Over the course of his first year, he developed a reputation for his attention to detail and his ability to explain complex insurance concepts in a way that was easy for clients to understand. He quickly became the youngest productive agent in the district.

As Alex’s reputation grew, he began to search for companies that provided greater living benefits for his ever-growing clientele. In late 2022, he was offered the opportunity to become a member of District Mutual.

Now, at 25, Alex is one of the founding members of his agency. He has built a loyal client base who trust him to provide the best possible coverage for their needs. He has also become a mentor to new interns at the agency, sharing his knowledge and experience to help them succeed in the industry.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys gaming, building and repairing PCs, and engaging in coding challenges and DevOps projects to expand his IT knowledge. He is also an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Silver Spring, MD.
